Example Project Pricing

Keep in mind that there really aren't "standard" or typical jobs. Every house is different! Having said that, here are some ranges for "typical" jobs we might do:

Below are things to consider that will affect your job costs:

Central Air

Disconnect & reconnect of A/C equipment requires a licensed technician. SMH will not be involved in HVAC. We recommend the company that connects your equipment is local to the final destination of the home. We have people we could recommend in the Kansas City area.

Hitches

Hitches can be provided at $100 each. SMH will find and co-ordinate the welder. You will need to pay the welder directly on the day of the move. Estimate for welding is $300-$350 per hitch.

Tires, Wheels, and Axles

You may have tires, wheels, and/or axles existing. We may or may not be able to use what you have. Rental and labor included.

Trimout (teardown & setup)

Remove and replace all doors, trim, cut carpet if necessary. Does not include re-seaming carpet: you will need to find someone to handle this.

Vinyl over drywall (VOG): $20 per linear foot of the house.

Drywall: $60 per linear foot. This might be on the high side for drywall work but our drywall contractor is very good. You are welcome to find someone different to do this work.

Teardown

Remove skirting (panels that hide under home), disconnect & tie up utilities, attach bolt on hitches to home, unlag home, unblock home, transport materials to new site (blocks, blocking wood). Lot clean up and disposal of trash is customer/seller responsibility.

Plastic & Brace

Use plastic to weatherproof home. Materials included. Additional expenses possible for: building interior walls to brace home for move, double plastic, raised roof.

$800 - $1,000+

Transport

Disclaimer: the Department of Tranportation controls what routes we can take with oversized loads. It's possible that due to their restrictions, construction, etc. the route we must take to deliver a home is not the shortest route possible.

Escort Vehicles

Two escort vehicles needed per section.

Set Home

Set on concrete (piers, runners, slab)

Additional charges for homes not sent on concrete (base pads): $500 - $1000

Basement or crawl space set

$4 / sq ft of home

Motel / Per Diem

When a job is more than 50 miles away from Holden, MO our employees may need to stay the night in the area in order to finish the job on time and not spend large amounts of time traveling.

An typical doublewide set needs two rooms for 3-4 nights, but distance, geographical location, and project complexity can affect these costs.

Doublewide End Siding

Cover both ends of double-wide with siding: $550

Misc. Parts

May need additional: blocks, blocking wood, belly paper, tape, nails, screws, lag bolts, etc. We only charge for what we use. Rough estimates:

Deadhead Miles

$1.50 - $3.00 per mile. Charged when jobsite is over 50 miles from Holden, MO. Includes travel to a site to do a job, but can also be impacted by the amount of equipment that needs to be brought to and from the site.

Utility Hookups

If your home is on private property, we can not hook up the utilities.

If your home is in a mobile home community, we will do the connections:

Skirting

Assuming 32-36" average height placed on shingles: $7.50 / perimeter linear foot

Permits

Be aware that your city and/or county may also charge you for permits. Once we know where your home will be placed, we can usually give you instructions on how to apply for the permits.

Site Prep & Piers

We can do minor bobcat/excavating work to prep your site. We can also pour concrete piers. These costs can only be estimated as part of a custom quote.
